I'm a rising Junior and after all of my 13 college tours (just from this summer, I know, it's kinda crazy) I'm really starting to feel the pressures of school sink in. Let's get one thing straight. I don't hate school. I love learning, I love collaborating and making my mind and writing much more mature, but I hate, HATE, test taking. I'm an anxious test taker, as I'm sure many people are, and even a simple vocab quiz is enough to make me want to curl up in a ball and die. So, obviously, junior year is going to be a rough one because of all of the SATs. The whole concept to me is just a bit mind boggling when you really think about it- how much energy and money is spent on that 4 hour exam so that we can go to a good school, get good jobs, and find our place in life. It's a seemingly flawless plan, but when you disect the whole 'SAT is your future' plan, it just doesn't add up to me. I don't even know who I am yet, how am I supposed to know if I want the SAT or ACT, how am I supposed to know which school has the perfect options for me, how am I supposed to figure out my whole life as an upperclassman and a college student? To me, I feel like this is the year of permanent ink, this is the year where my life and its choices are really going to begin. But as I said earlier, I'm still figuring out who I am. So, just to make it easy, I'll tell you a bit about myself. Maybe one of you writing geniuses out there know a bit more about people LIKE me then I ever will.
